Teen Driver's Education

The State of Ohio requires teenagers under the age of 18 to attend a licensed driving school before taking their Ohio BMV Road Exam. ​The​ Ohio Teen Program​ consists of 24 hours of classroom training followed by 8 hours of behind the wheel training. The Ohio Certificate of Completion will be issued by Bick's Driving School of Western Hills directly to the student after their final driving lesson.

Course Details

In Person Classroom:

The State of Ohio teen course consists of 12 lessons teaching key topics such as Ohio laws, basic car control, defensive driving, alcohol awareness, speeding, adverse conditions, handling emergencies, accidents, insurance, and seatbelt use. Classroom participation is encouraged through classroom activities, lectures, and movies.

Students MUST attend all 6 Classes, 4 Hours each. Students are NOT required to attend all 6 classes in order, make up classes can easily be scheduled.

Bick's East is offering summer classes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 11:00-3:00 pm for 2 weeks. Class start dates are June 6, June 20, July 5, July 18 and August 1 .

Online Classroom:

Behind-The-Wheel:

Students are required to drive for 8 hours, (4 – 2 hr. lessons). Through private instruction in a Bick's vehicle, students will be taught basic driving skills, maneuverability, and expressway driving. Our entire fleet is state inspected and equipped with an instructor break and mirror.

FOR OUR CLASSROOM STUDENTS

Behind the Wheel Lessons can be scheduled during the final week of classroom training. Students must be paid in full and have their valid Temps before scheduling with our office staff.

FOR OUR ONLINE STUDENTS

Behind the Wheel Lessons can be scheduled after the student has completed the 24 hours of the online program and passed the final exam. Students must be paid in full, have the Ohio Teen Behind the Wheel Training Agreement signed by Student and Parent/Legal Guardian and have their valid Temps before scheduling with our office staff.

FOR OUR BEHIND-THE-WHEEL ONLY STUDENTS

Registration is available after the student has their Online Certificate of Completion and their valid Temps. Students must be paid in full, and have the following three documents uploaded to the Student Portal:

  1. Ohio Teen Behind the Wheel Training Agreement signed by Student and Parent/Legal Guardian
  2. Photo of the front of valid Temporary License
  3. Copy of the Online Certificate of Completion
